Being An Introvert Sucks

But it’s also a blessing-mistaken as a curse

First, I want to share what an introvert is, since we often get described as antisocial or shy. For most people this is the case, however, an introvert is someone who prefers solitude and gets energy from alone time.

I like to imagine everyone with a green battery bar over their head and with introverts this bar usually depletes to zero by the time one interaction is over. And they need to recharge it by spending time alone.

That is an introvert.

Still, these type of people aren’t seen as normal a lot of the time. Not interacting with others is seen as “weird”.

And our personal space aren’t really respected.

I wish these type of people were more discussed in school and workspaces, so we can get the accommodations to function more properly. And so others can understand why we behave the way we do sometimes.

It was only recently that I was able to put a word to the way I have been feeling lately.

Overstimulated.

It’s basically sensory overload, that creates a sense of stress in the most simple situations. This feeling leaves you completely drained and for me, it leaves me slightly irritable and sensitive to light or sound.
