Stop! Stop everything you are doing! I am going to be sharing two critical things to avoid when starting a youtube channel. Yes, I said critical. Things that could cost the life of your channel! More importantly, it's future revenue.

So, let's avoid the whole “wish I knew” because I am going to tell you now.

The Infamous Copyright Claim

Before I sold one of my YouTube channels, it received a “manual reviewed” copyright claim. This claim was on a video no longer than a minute which I thought I transformed enough to make it my own, but evidently, the original owner thought not.

The claim resulted in me losing thousands of ad revenue. The earnings instead went to the original owner.

And I know what you are saying, “Well, it wasn’t your video in the first place”.

Touche.

I learned my lesson. Sorta…

Honestly, I couldn’t help but look at all the views the video brought in. Despite receiving no revenue, the video hit 1,000,000 views. So I went on to make 4 more videos similar to that one.

They all went viral and I would be rolling in dough if they didn’t all get copyright claimed.
